3/5/2000: Some new links have been added in various places, of special interest is a link to the Narrative Television Network.
1/3/2000: Welcome to the new year! Some new links have been added in various places, and more are forthcoming.
11/6/1999: I am trying my very first style sheet to add some attributes to links and such. Feedback on the changes would be appreciated. So far, the only file using the new code is the main index file.
11/3/1999: A couple of new links have been added, and the page is now a member of The Blind Ring.
10/31/1999: Links have been added and a couple of dead ones have been pruned out. Thanks to those who let me know about them. Also, the search is currently on for resources involving education in the arts for persons with disabilities. If anyone has any information, please email me.
9/14/99: Some new links have been added, and some minor code changes have been made. Nothing too drastic this time. My search for information on the speech-friendly web ring has turned up nothing so far. If anyone has any information, please email me.
8/23/99: A couple of things have been added, and the humour section has been expanded to contain literary works of whatever type strikes my fancy. With that, I've added a poem that I read and liked, The Most Beautiful Flower.
8/3/99: Some links have been added, and a little code cleaning was done. Not much activity right now, as I am working on my personal home page.
7/23/99: New links have been added, and some minor re-organizing has taken place. Of special interest and links on myositis, added at the request of a visitor to the page.
7/14/99: All the sub-pages are now upgraded to be uniform. Some links have been added, and more are on the way soon.
5/30/99: Things are changing. Some graphical elements are being added, as well as a little reformatting. The page will still remain readable to all browsers, and plans are moving ahead to get the page on the speech-friendly web ring. I would appreciate reviews, good or bad, about the changes. Thanks!
4/22/99: It seems impossible, but it's not. I actually am working on this page! So far, just some cosmetic work, new fonts and colors that will be moving through the entire structure as soon as I have time to do the coding. Hopefully some new links and surprises as well, so keep watching. If anyone has any comments on the readability of the fonts/colors, please email me from the link above.
12/2/98: Well, a slight snag, but progress anyway. The new computer seems to be suffering from the Windows 98 virus, so it's back in the shop for some adjustments. However, I was able to keep the 19" monitor that goes with it, so I can get some work done! Please note the addition of a new sub-page, Vision-related Resources. In looking over my collection of things, I saw there were a lot of these and so I moved them together. Other disabilities will receive similar focus as soon as I have time to continue my research in those areas. As always, the call for interesting links is out! Also on a personal note, I am now certified legally blind. I had noticed a change in my vision about 5 years ago, so it's taken that long to get here.
My experiences in the rehabilitation world have prompted me to work for advocacy for persons with low vision who often get "lost in the cracks." I spent 4 years being there, and to some extent still am there. If you or someone you know is bashing their head against the brick wall of bureaucracy, or is working as an advocate for such persons, please put them in touch with me.
11/12/98: A new section has been added to the main page, for humourous and fun articles. I have added one already, What To Do When You Meet A Sighted Person. More to come as I find them.
Also in the news, the new computer is due sometime next week! Look for more improvements and the lack of neglect to the page, coming soon!
8/23/98: Some new links have been added and a little cleaning has been done. Also in the news, I am in the process of getting a brand-new computer system with all the adaptive bells & whistles I need. Look for better upkeep and additions to the page as I can work better.
Actually, a lot of cleaning got done! In re-working the menus, it seemed like a good idea to re-vamp the coding. So I did. The bolding has been removed for ease of use in text-only environments. Besides, if people need bold, they can set their browsers up for it. So the new code is much more "vanilla". It'll also be easier to maintain.
9/7/96: Lots of changes will be happening over the next few days. Few of them will be noticable to users, but they'll make my life easier. The longer lists will be placed in their own files for easier updating, and the lists will be organized a bit more to make finding things easier.
I've made some changes in the appearance of the page, most notably new link colors and bold text everywhere, which should help make things easier to read for those with graphical browsers. Text users should not have any problems. I'm hoping to add a graphic or two also, but that's a fairly low priority for now. As always, suggestions are welcome.
In other news, I have been contracted to write a page for LATAN, the Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network. Watch this space for the URL and a link when the page is officially up.
8/25/97: A link to a brand-new page for LATAN, the Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network, has been dded. Why all the fanfare? Because I built the page! :)
8/18/97: Some new WWW/HTML links have been added. More links are on the way! It appears that re-organization of the page may be required soon. Watch this space for all the details.
7/8/97: New links to AXIS Disability Rights and Disabled Persons International have been added in the Activism & Advocacy list.
6/17/97: A brand-new document, written by li'l ol' me, has been added. Check it out and see if you too can Imagine...A Readable Web Page.
6/15/97: Even more links have been added. A couple of the lists are bordering on getting their own files, but for now almost everything is in the main index. Also, I will be working on registering the page with more search facilities. If you like what you see here, please register the page with your favorite search engine.
6/14/97: Two new files have been added. One is a more comprehensive list of newsgroups, the other is a list of education resrouces. As the page grows, most of the larger lists will be moved into their own sections. More links are in the works, so stay tuned!
6/1/97: Color is added to the page to make it more readable for those with Netscape-variety browsers. If you have any comments on the color scheme, or other ideas to make the page more readable, please let me know.
3/29/97: After a great deal of reworking, the old disability page, which became the Blue Mouse Enterprises page for awhile, has been converted and moved back under my personal home page. So count today as the first day of a new era for this list of resources. Hopefully, this format will make it easier to find and add new things. Stay tuned for all the exciting developtmens to come!
